James Liang
    Chairman and CEO, Ctrip.com

    James Liang is currently the chairman and CEO of Ctrip.com, the leading online travel agency in China.  In 1999, together with three business partners, Mr. Liang founded Ctrip.com.  He was the CEO from 2000 to 2006, and became CEO again in 2013.  He has been the Chairman since 2003.  Under his leadership, Ctrip has grown into one of the most successful Internet companies in China.  Ctrip was listed on NASDAQ in 2003.

    Mr. Liang received a PhD in Economics from Stanford University in 2011, and his research interest lies in entrepreneurship and innovation.  He is the author of an influential book, Too many people in China?, in which he analyzes the impact of aging on entrepreneurship and innovation.  Mr. Liang also received a Master's degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and he attended the young genius class of FuDan at the age of 15.
